If you’re a pasta lover like me, you need to make this creamy shrimp and steak pasta! Packed with protein and a creamy parmesan sauce, itโs a hearty meal perfect for post-workout dinners or indulgent meals when youโre aiming for both nutrition and taste.
This meal is a calorie-dense with 1,330 calories and 91g of protein. ๐ฝ๏ธ
Ingredients:
Feel free to double the recipe or use less to fit your goals ๐
For the Pasta:
- 150g rotini pasta (adjust the serving of pasta to fit your goals but I like a lot of pasta ๐ )
- 120g (1/2 cup) frozen broccoli
For the Protein:
- 8oz thin sliced ribeye steak
- 2 servings (approximately 14 large shrimp)
For the Sauce:
- 240 ml (1 cup) whole milk
- 8g (1 tbsp) all purpose flour
- 30g (4 tbsp) grated parmesan cheese
Seasonings:
- Salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, minced garlic (to taste)
Here’s how to make it:
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook for 20 minutes or until tender. If adding broccoli, steam it during the last 5 minutes of the pasta’s cooking time. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Steak: Wash and season the ribeye steak with salt, pepper, italian seasoning, and minced garlic. Heat a skillet, spray it with cooking spray, and cook the steak to your desired doneness. Remove the steak and set it aside. In the same skillet, cook the shrimp until pink and opaque.
- Make the Creamy Sauce: In a heated saucepan coated with cooking spray, whisk 1 tbsp of flour into 1 cup of whole milk. Whisk continuously to avoid clumps. When the milk starts to simmer, whisk in the parmesan cheese until the sauce thickens.
- Combine and Serve: Add the cooked pasta, broccoli, shrimp, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan. Mix until well coated in the sauce. Plate the pasta and top with the cooked steak.
And thatโs it! Enjoy!
