Crispy sweet and sour chicken at home! It’s a perfect weeknight dinner that comes together fast, thanks to Panda Express sauce. 🍽️

For the chicken:

  • 12oz boneless skinless chicken breast tenderloins
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp egg white
  • 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the sauce:

  • 4-6 tbsp Panda  Express Sweet Chili Sauce
  • 1 onion
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • White sesame seeds – optional to garnish

  1. Prep the chicken: Wash and cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine the chicken, garlic, egg white, soy sauce, cornstarch, flour, and water. Mix well to form a light batter.
  1. Chop veggies: Dice onion and red bell pepper and set aside.
  1. Fry the chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, fry the chicken pieces until golden. For extra crispiness, I like to use the double fry method (let the chicken rest after the first fry, then fry again briefly).
  1. Sauté the veggies: In a separate non-stick pan, lightly spray with oil and cook onions and peppers until softened.
  1. Combine & sauce: Add the crispy chicken to the veggies, cook together for 5–10 minutes. Add sweet chili sauce and stir well to coat everything. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes so the sauce thickens.
  1. Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with sesame seeds if you’d like and serve hot over rice or with a side of steamed veggies!
