I don’t make steak all the time, so I kinda don’t know how to make it for real. 😅 But this one turned out so good. I paired it with lemon pepper fries, which ended up being the perfect combo. If you’re like me and still trying to learn how to cook steak at home, this is a good recipe to start! 🍽️

Here’s how to make it:
- Prep the steak: Wash and pat steaks dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with meat tenderizer, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and parsley. Let sit at room temperature for 15–20 minutes.
- Prep the fries: Wash and cut potatoes into fries. Soak in ice-cold water for at least 30 minutes. Drain and pat completely dry. Drying the fries completely helps make them crispy!
- Cook the steak: Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add steaks. Cook for 4–5 minutes per side without moving them to get a good sear. In a cast iron skillet with 1-2 tbsp of olive oil, add the steaks. When almost done, reduce heat, add a tbsp of butter and ½ tbsp of minced garlic. Base the steak with the garlic butter. Allow steak to rest for 5 minutes before slicing to keep it juicy!
- Cook the fries: Heat oil over medium heat. Fry potatoes until golden and crispy. Remove and place in a bowl lined with paper towel. Season with salt and lemon pepper.
Serve with extra veggies if you want and enjoy!
